The Shadow Temple

Here's the finished painting. It was created using an original screenshot of the temple from the game, and then redesigned in a way reminiscent of the original.

Due to the complexity of drawing the torches in 2d, It was faster to do a quick model in Maya. I used my ground design to lay out the torches so I could light them. 

From there, I took a screenshot and brought it in to Photoshop.

When reoccuring patterns are used in a painting in perspective, it helps to design them front on first and then alter the perspective in the paint.

You will notice I took out the torches and changed the lighting scheme half way through. I realised that the main lighting would actually be the glow of the script on the ground.
